Cheribundi Refresh Tea and Juice Review and Giveaway - Foodie Friday

Disclosure: I received these products free for testing purposes from Cheribundi. They are also providing the giveaway prize. All opinions are my own.

I was so excited when I was contacted by Cheribundi to review some of their tart cherry juices and teas. I LOVE juice, well and tea too, but mostly juice!

I figured they would send one or two of their more popular flavors and toss in a couple extra to giveaway and that would be that. NO! They sent a WHOLE CASE! That's a variety pack of their refresh line - juices and teas. Twelve bottles in total!

A little bit about Cheribundi before we just jump into things though. Since I was previously unfamiliar with the brand, I figure some of you may also be in the dark.

Cheribundi is a premium tart cherry juice that touts benefits such as reducing pain and inflimation and aiding in muscle recovery. It was originally deesigned as a drink for those who are more serious athletes but they recently came out with their refresh line of juices and teas that are meant to be more casual - ie, something you'd drink with lunch rather than after a workout. This new line contains the juice from 5 - 20 tart cherries per bottle depending on the variety.

The fruit refresh comes in 5 flavors:
  • cherry blueberry
  • cherry lemonade
  • cherry raspberry
  • cherry pomegranate
  • cherry cranberry

The tea refresh comes in 4 flavors:
  • cherry black tea
  • cherry green tea
  • cherry jasmine tea
  • cherry rooibos tea

Each fruit refresh contains 25% juice while the teas only contain 5% juice. When you look at numbers like that, it can be easy to think that the juice is obviously better. When you stop to think about it for a second it makes sense why the percentages are what they are. The fruit refresh drinks are cherry/other fruit juice blends. The tea refresh drinks are cherry/tea blends. To simplify: juice + juice = lots of juice, juice + tea = less juice and some tea. Make more sense?

By now I bet you might be wondering which flavors were MY favorite, right? Here are my faves in no particular order:

I LOVED the Cherry Lemonade. The tart of the cherry really compliments the tart of the lemonade and yet, somehow, it's not too tart - for me at least. The weather here in Ohio has been a little wonky lately - think 80* one day and snow the next - but I imagine this being absolutely wonderful on a hot summer day.

The Cherry Pomegranate was also delicious and I imagine it being just as tasty in the summer.

In college I was a HUGE fan of Minute Maid's Cranberry, Apple, Raspberry juice and should have just bought stock in it since I drank so much of it. This Cherry Raspberry flavor tastes so similar to it, but so much better! It was very refreshing and delicious.

I loved this black tea flavor. It tasted amazing and was my favorite tea flavor by far.

And then the not so favorites - that were still good, just not my cup of, er, tea:

I'm apparently not a fan of jasmine tea, so let me make this clear, it's the flavor of tea I'm not so fond of.

This Rooibos tea flavor had a really strong, strange flavor to me. It was my first time trying Rooibos tea and I'm fairly certain it's the flavor of the tea I wasn't fond of. Maybe it has to grow on you.
