Modified wreath tutorial - Now topiary tutorial

The following is a modified tutorial for making a topiary from cupcake wrappers. The original tutorial is from making a wreath from cupcake wrappers.

Materials needed:
  • Hot glue & hot glue gun
  • Styrofoam ball (I used the green floral kind)
  • Dowel rod (or ribbon if you want to make them into hanging pomanders)
  • Flower pot
  • Cupcake wrappers
  • Thick dowel or other stick for pushing cupcake wrappers onto Styrofoam

Directions:
  • Lay out your materials so they are easily accessible. Also separate several cupcake wrappers ahead of time as they tend to stick together and it's sometimes hard to get them apart with a hot glue gun in your hand.

  • Put a cupcake wrapper on one end of the dowel/stick you will be using to put the wrapper onto the Styrofoam and then put a bit of hot glue on the end.

  • Quickly press the hot glue end of the wrapper (while still on the dowel/rod) onto the Styrofoam. If you try to use your fingers for this you will probably burn your finger as the wrapper is thin and the glue is hot.

  • Repeat around the entire ball, making sure to leave a bit of room on one side for the dowel rod/ribbon/whatever you are attaching the Styrofoam ball to.
