Almost to 40!...Sales that is!

My shop is just 6 sales shy of 40! Will you be the magic sale that gets me there? There's a lot of great stuff just waiting to be found, along with a new card posted today and more to come!

I love this card for so many reasons, the first of which is that it's simple without being too plain.

I find this shade of light purple to be quite bright and cheerful without being too in your face. It's also quite light at the same time without being too much of a washed out or faded pastel.

The bright pink adds just a pop of color peeking out and, to me at least, really ties this card together. The pink is also what makes it simple, yet not too plain for me. Without it, I think the card would be lacking something.

And finally, who doesn't love a good rhinestone center for a flower? The rhinestones add a touch of sparkle and, along with the flowers on the right side of the card, balance out the somewhat larger sentiment.

So what do you think? Have you checked out the shop lately? There are lots of goodies just waiting to be found. If you're having troubles finding something you're looking for, or it seems I just don't have what you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask! I welcome custom orders and requests.

I'm taking a survey!

I know there are more people who read this blog than I know about and I'd like everyone's opinions on a few things. If you would be so kind as to take a few minutes out of your busy schedule for this short survey it would be much appreciated. There is nothing to sign up for and your individual answers will be private.

Thank you!

Junkin' for Gems - Week 2

I was very excited that my mom had last week off work. In case you hadn't already caught on, she's usually my partner in crime for garage sales. Sometimes my dad or sister likes to tag along and my husband won't go at all, so it's usually just us girls.

Anyhow, her having last week off work meant we could go on Friday instead of waiting until Saturday, which is a good thing. Sometimes I feel like we miss some of the good stuff when we have to wait until Saturday. I know it's true and it usually doesn't bother me since I can find some pretty decent stuff anyhow.

We had four garage sales on our list and managed to hit all of them in about two hours, which includes about 30 - 40 minutes of travel time to/between them all.

At the first, I didn't get anything for myself, but we got a few things for my dad. They did have a storage thing, but it was shelves and I'm really looking more for plastic totes and drawers, so I passed.

I forget if there was anything specific that drew us to the second one, other than it was on the way to the third. We were able to get a few wood things for my dad to craft with and I got two books - one for me and one for the kiddos at the nursery.

The third one promised scrapbook supplies, which I was beyond excited for. If I'd had more money on me I would have bought all of it! However, I was able to get quite a few things that I think were good for the price and I'll get some use out of.

The fourth and final one promised fabric and lots of it. I've got a specific project in mind for some fabric so I wanted to check that out for sure. For those of you interested in the project, I'll put a little bit of it at the end.

$1
I don't think $10 was too shabby for all I got. Also as a bonus I got the containers that some of my dad's things were in. Score!

So a bit about this project. Sadly, a friend of mine from a miscarriage/pregnancy loss support group lost twin girls at 19 weeks. She is trying to organize a blanket drive of sorts to collect all sizes of baby blankets from the very, very premature to full term. She's encouraging friends and family to either make blankets on their own or donate supplies or money so that others can make them. Her hope is to donate these blankets to a hospital near her (either the one the girls were delivered at or another one, I forget exactly at the moment) on/around what should have been their due date.

As you know if you've poked around here or followed me on Twitter for any length of time, while I don't know her exact pain (does anyone really know the exact pain of another?), I do understand the heartbreak of losing a pregnancy. That alone has made me want to get involved and really, for $1 for some cute baby material I couldn't go wrong. Now I just have to make nice with the sewing machine.

Did you go Junkin' for Gems this weekend? Is there anything you can cross off your list? Feel free to comment about your finds and link to your post about your finds.

Ritz Crackerfuls - Peanut Butter & Chocolate - Foodie Friday

So glad to be back on doing Foodie Friday! It's been a rough month or so and I'm finally feeling pretty good. I hope to get back to crafting soon as well, in fact I've been working on a couple of new products I'd like to introduce fairly soon!

There are at least 5 other flavors in the Crackerfuls line, but I believe the peanut butter and chocolate is the newest (at least the box - or a sign near them - said they were a new flavor).

These come in a box of 6 and retail for somewhere between $2 and $3. I was lucky enough to score these on sale for $1.99. Not too shabby. I think we had a coupon too! There is a picture of the ingredients below for those who are interested in that and I'll also have the nutrition info near the bottom of this review as well.

So what exactly are these? The short answer: A combo of yummy peanut butter and a smidge of chocolate smushed between two crackers. Read on for the longer answer!

What's coming up?! A few sneak peeks

I thought that since I've been working on coming up with new and exciting things to write about and share, I'd start by sharing a sneak peek at some stuff you can look forward to. In the past few weeks I've been able to try quite a few new things that I'd love to share reviews of with everyone. A few are food, a few are beauty and all were great fun to try out. I've also been working on a few new things for my Etsy shop and I'd like to share a bit about that as well.

Made with real peanut butter and has 6g of whole grain per serving? What could this yummy treat be? You'll find out this Friday on the first Foodie Friday in quite some time! I will say that these are quite yummy and I hope you'll try them as well!

Hmmm square cracker looking things? And they come in a 0.8oz package? Quite strange! Could be most anything really, especially with that sort of shape. A new/different flavor of cracker perhaps? Square chips? A review of these tasty treats will be posted in the coming weeks!

Oh la la! Is that pink lace? Why yes, yes it is! This beauty will be part of a new line of things I'm launching for my shop in August - however, not all of them will have pink lace, sorry to disappoint. After showing this sneak peek picture to a friend, she guessed it was everything from a corset to shoes. Not quite with not much more than lace and glue, but very good guesses nonetheless! Keep an eye out for a proper introduction to these products to come!
