So it's been about a week since the little bunnies were discovered. As far as we can tell mama bunny is doing her job and feeding them, which is great! We were a little worried a couple days that she wasn't, but the way our dog acts about 9pm tells us mama bunny is probably out there feeding the babies.
As you can see from the pictures below, the dog has taken quite a liking to the bunnies and it's as though she thinks their her own. She sits by the fence, eagerly waiting for them to make an appearance. I have to keep telling her they aren't coming out today. She's done great at not scratching or trying to get to them. She just pokes her nose under the fence and sniffs. Pretty soon after that we can usually see the ground moving up and down. The bunnies must be saying hi.
For the first couple of days we put some sticks over the next as pictured below. I read somewhere that you can judge if mama bunny comes to feed the babies this way. In the morning, the sticks should be moved indicating that she uncovered them for feeding and covered them back up. The sticks have been move several times so we're fairly certain she's taking care of them
